Coaches and Volunteers

Developing skills, raising aspirations

Coaches and volunteer skills development is an essential part of supporting an active county. The skills and experience of the sport and physical activity workforce are essential in delivering physical activity in an engaging way. This is true for paid for coaches and volunteers, but also those who work for free.

We want to support Norfolk to have a well-developed physical activity workforce. A workforce that is able and confident to provide varied and appropriate activity opportunities. These opportunities need to appeal to a wide range of audiences. We are especially focussed on those who are new to activity or living with health conditions.

Resources to support the development of coaches and volunteers

In this section we’ve got information to support coach and volunteer development. You’ll find information about Minimum Standards for Coaching. There is also coaching development opportunities, and guidance on developing and delivering safe sports and physical activities in group settings. This information is particularly essential as we emerge from pandemic.

We’ll continue to update this page in line with the latest COVID safety guidance. If you need further support or safeguarding advice during COVID-19, you can check out this page.
