In this section you’ll find a range of skills and training resources to help you develop as a coach. These resources are designed to help you build your confidence. You will also develop the skills needed to deliver appropriate and engaging physical activities and sports to a variety of audiences.

Online skills and training resources

Mental Health Awareness for Sport and Physical Activity Training

UK Coaching and 1st4sport, along with partners Mind and Sport England, are offering an online course Mental Health Awareness for Sport and Physical Activity‘ for the whole coaching community. You can earn 1.5 CIMSPA CPD points for completing this course. It’s ideal for those involved in delivering coaching in a club, leisure centre or any other physical activity setting. This includes:

  • coaches
  • activators
  • fitness instructors and personal trainers
  • sports administrators
  • front of house staff
  • volunteers

Equip yourself with the knowledge, skills and confidence to better understand and support people living with mental health problems. You will also be supporting your own mental health in the process.


CIMSPA Stronger Together Hub

The Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMPSA) is the lead organisation for the workforce in the sport and physical activity sector.

To support their members and partners during the challenge of the coronavirus pandemic, they have created a hub as a place where they have bought together advice and practical assistance on coronavirus (Covid-19). It also includes generous offers of support from many of their partners.
