The future of the Big Norfolk Holiday Fun programme

The future of Big Norfolk Holiday Fun

Thank you to everyone for your continued support of the Big Norfolk Holiday Fun programme. Whether you are an activity provider, school, parent or carer, your efforts have contributed to the programme’s success over the last four years.

We are glad to share that beginning March 2026, a further 3 years extension plan will be in place, meaning eligible families can continue to access free holiday provision until 2029. Active Norfolk will continue to manage its delivery, in partnership with Norfolk County Council.

Thank you to the Department for Education who have and will continue to support the scheme with the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) fund, enabling children receiving benefits-related free school meals to experience free, fun holiday activities and healthy lunches.

Check out our children and young people’s report on the programme’s impact below.

We’ve worked with providers from all across Norfolk

The providers we work with have been crucial to the programme’s successes. Delivering a mix of arts & crafts, dance, football, multi-sports, martial arts, outdoor trips and so much more, we could not have carried out this programme without such a fantastic team.

We rely on our partners for their feedback to continually improve the Big Norfolk Holiday Fun programme. You can hear what they have to say concerning their participation below.

So, what’s next for the Big Norfolk Holiday Fun programme?

Active Norfolk will continue to work with our partners to promote county-wide opportunities for children and young people. The Big Norfolk Holiday Fun has made a huge difference across the country, providing accessible fun and stimulating activities for children and respite for working parents over the school holidays.

Having received an overwhelming amount of support and positive feedback, we want to take the time to thank everyone who got involved.
