Beat loneliness at free music workshops for older people

Norfolk residents in later life can get moving, make friends, and have fun at free music and movement sessions across the county.

The Our Day Out programme, run by arts and community development charity Creative Arts East, offers free workshops led by trained arts facilitators for older people in Attleborough, Dereham, Downham Market, Hunstanton, North Walsham, Thetford, Watton, and Wells-next-the-Sea.

The twice-monthly sessions feature fun and engaging musical activities such as Bollywood and belly dancing, African drumming, songwriting, digital music making, and theatre trips.

They're accessible for people living with dementia, adaptable for different levels of mobility, and supportive of those with long-term health conditions.

Carers, friends, and family are welcome to join in the sessions, which have been shown to help tackle loneliness and increase wellbeing.
