Norfolk Moves

Norfolk Moves: Our Movement for movement

We invite you to join our new social movement for physical activity in Norfolk, dedicated to supporting people of all ages and abilities in getting active.

Norfolk Moves unites communities, organisations, sports and activity providers, and individuals across Norfolk with a shared goal: combatting inequalities and removing barriers to physical activity.

Active Lives Survey, 2024-2025 These are just a few statistics highlighting the need for intervention. Our movement is more important than ever in helping to bridge this gap and encourage a healthier, more active community. Active Lives Survey, 2024-2025 Why the 'Movement for Movement'? 30% of Norfolk pupils in Years 1-11 are not meeting the Chief Medical Officer’s guidance of doing 30 minutes physical activity per day. Children are more likely to be inactive if they are in a low-income household or have special educational needs or a disability. 24.7% of Norfolk’s adult population is inactive (less than 30 minutes of physical activity per week). The survey also highlights significant inequalities, with certain groups, such as those living with disabilities, being disproportionately affected.
