Active Norfolk/BNHF

Big Norfolk Holiday Fun is Norfolk’s biggest holiday programme Book activities now Big Norfolk Holiday Fun (BNHF) is a free, government-funded holiday programme for eligible children aged 5 to 16. Some 4-year-olds can also take part if they are in Reception.

Free places are available for children who receive Targeted Free School Meals. This is usually for families with a household income of £7,400 a year or less (excluding benefits). Some children may also be eligible through our discretionary referral process.

During the winter, Easter and summer holidays, children can enjoy fun activities, be active, eat healthy meals, learn new skills and make new friends in a safe and welcoming environment.

of attendances were by those children from the most deprived areas (IMD 1- 4) Since the programme launched in 2021, it has grown exponentially. We now work with over 190 providers across the county to provide a wide range of activities to children and young people who could benefit most during the school holidays.

In our 2025 impact report, we showed: Big Norfolk Holiday Fun Impact 48% Big Norfolk Holiday Fun impact report 2,726 of attendances were children with SEND requirements. 180,411 attendances since the programme began.
