Creating Active Schools

IMPACT REPORT 2025-26 Find out more about Creating Active Schools Improving whole-school outcomes with physical activity

The Creating Active Schools (CAS) programme works with schools to create an impactful action plan for physical activity and movement.

The 2025 CAS cohort of schools was carefully selected using a range of demographic indicators to ensure support was targeted where it could have the greatest impact. Factors including levels of deprivation measured through Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) data, Free School Meal eligibility, and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) prevalence were considered alongside the need to achieve a balanced representation of primary, secondary and specialist settings from across Norfolk.

DATA SHAPING ENGAGEMENT Top three annual highlights Following an initial baseline profiling process, Active Norfolk’s CAS Leads worked closely with each school to identify strengths, areas for development and priority outcomes.

Through a collaborative and tailored approach, schools were supported to develop bespoke action plans that responded directly to their individual needs and circumstances. This personalised support enabled schools to focus resources effectively, build sustainable approaches to physical activity and wellbeing, and establish clear foundations for long-term improvement.
