Active Norfolk appoints new Director

Eve Dewsnap has been named the new Director of Active Norfolk, picking up the baton from former Director Ben Jones after his departure from Active Norfolk in January.

Eve’s background as the Director of Academic Services at the University of East Anglia, combined with a deep passion for promoting positive change within Norfolk, will help to further advance the mission of the organisation.

“We are excited to welcome Eve as our new Director.

Our former director, Ben Jones, played a huge part in delivering our strategy across the county, and it was important in our recruitment process to make sure we could continue this work with someone who could also bring creativity and fresh new ideas.

I’m delighted to be able to announce Eve as the new director of Active Norfolk – she impressed us all throughout this process with her expertise, enthusiasm, and proven leadership experience”.

More about Eve

Eve’s career started in policy and performance roles in local government, which is what brought her to Norfolk 16 years ago.  She subsequently worked in external affairs for the National Trust, before moving to work at the University of East Anglia where she has been for the past 10 years.

Eve commented: “I am thrilled to be joining Active Norfolk as its new Director.  I’m honoured to have the baton passed to me by Ben, and to continue to build on the progress he and the team have made under his leadership.

I’m looking forward to working with the fantastic team at Active Norfolk and our many partners to deliver our vision of physical activity being the norm for everyone in Norfolk. Physical activity can be part of the solution for some of the most complex challenges facing our communities – health inequalities, mental health, social isolation, even climate change.  Our mission has never been more relevant or more urgent”.
