Resources to support kids to be active at school
Children should be active at school for at least 30 minutes each day.
We have a funded role to support schools to increase their pupils’ physical activity levels and use physical activity as a tool to achieve and improve outcomes where it can have the biggest impact.
As part of this support, we’ve pulled together information to help schools to deliver high quality PE, sport and physical activity. On these pages you can find links to providers and organisations that can help students be more active at school.

Active Travel is the means by which we get somewhere – but doing it ACTIVELY. It can be walking, cycling or scooting, or even skipping! It just involves being physical when getting from place to place. It’s a great way to increase the amount of physical activity you achieve each day.
Schools are encouraged to support their pupils in being active for at least an average of 60 minutes a day, in order to give them the best chance of leading a healthy lifestyle (CMO Guidelines 2019). Active Travel is a great way to contribute towards this.
