Norfolk Sports Awards 2018
The Norfolk Sports Awards is the most prestigious event in the Norfolk sporting calendar and recognises those who have achieved exceptional things in sport over the past 12 months in our county.
The award categories include Coach of the Year, Young Sports Personality, The Power of Physical Activity, and the prestigious Norfolk Sports Personality of the Year Award, which is presented to the individual who our judging panel consider has made truly exceptional achievements in sport in the past year.
This year's glittering awards night will take place on Wednesday 14th November at OPEN venue in the Norwich city centre and is not to be missed. Click here to view a full report of last years event, including pictures and quotes from the night's winners.
Norfolk Sports Personality Nominations
Complete the form on this page to nominate somebody you think should be considered for Norfolk Sports Personality 2018.
Please review the criteria below and judging processes to get an idea of what the judges will be looking for in a nomination.
What are the judges looking for in a Sports Personality?
For the Norfolk Sports Personality award, the judges are looking for people who meet the following criteria:
- A male or female performer who has made great progress over the last year, has achieved a great deal, or has made a big difference to a team over the last year.
- Must be aged 19 or over on 30th September 2018
If someone you would like to put forward does not meet the above criteria, nominations for other categories, including Young Sports Personality of the Year, open on Monday 3rd September. Keep an eye on this page and on our social media pages for updates.
How does it work?
Nominations for the Norfolk Sports Personality Award will be open to the public until Midnight on Monday 20th August. Any nominations received after that date will not be considered.
The judging panel will then review all the nominations and select a long list of six finalists based on their level of sporting achievement. These athletes will be profiled and put forward for a public vote.
The public vote will be open from Monday 3 September through Sunday 7 October, in line with the other category nominations.
The three athletes that have received the highest number of public votes by the nominations deadline will be put forward for the judging panel, who will decide on the winner based on their sporting achievements and impact on the county.
The three shortlisted finalists will be notified, along with the other award category shortlisted finalists, after the judging date. They will receive two tickets to the awards night, where the winner will be announced!
When do nominations for other categories open?
The nominations for the other categories in the Norfolk sports awards will open on Monday 3rd September 2018. Below is a list of all the other awards to be presented on the night:
