It's been a difficult time with regards to fundraising this year. To help support non-profit organisations with their fundraising efforts, Broadland District Council have launched the Broadland Community at Heart Lottery.
Charities and other non-profit organisations/community groups that are either based in the Broadland district or cover the Broadland area may be eligible to apply. It's a free and reliable way to raise funds for your cause. You can also find out more about the scheme, watch a recording from the virtual launch and view the terms and conditions on their website.
Tickets for the lottery are on sale for £1 each, with supporters being able to choose where they want their money to go. 50% of ticket sales will go to the person's nominated good cause, 10% will go into a community fund run by Broadland District Council, and the remaining 40% will go towards prize money.
There will be a weekly draw with a jackpot of £25,000, other prizes available are £2500, £250, £25 or three free tickets. The first tickets went on sale on 12 January 2021, and the first draw will take place on 27 February 2021. Any funds raised by good causes will be paid monthly from March 2021 onwards.
If you would like to apply to become a Good Cause on behalf of a charity/non-profit organisation or community group, you can do this via the dedicated Community at Heart Lottery webpage (lots of information can also be found on this website). Your application will come to the Communities Team at Broadland District Council who will check that your charity/non-profit organisation/community group fulfils the criteria before progressing.
