Use a Beryl Bike for free around Norwich this summer

With more people than ever taking to two wheels during lockdown, you can cycle around Norwich for free this summer with a special offer from Beryl Bikes.

The pay-as-you-go bike rental scheme is offering 200 free riding minutes to the first 1,000 people to redeem its #BetterByBike promotion, in partnership with Norfolk County Council's Pushing Ahead project.

You can unlock the offer by downloading the free Beryl app and following the in-app messages.

By hopping on a bike for short journeys around the city you can reduce traffic emissions, free up space on public transport for key workers, and enjoy the benefits of cycling to your physical and mental health.

Martin Wilby, Norfolk County Council cabinet member for highways and infrastructure and chair of the Transforming Cities joint committee said: "With government restrictions now easing and more Beryl bike bay locations on the way, we hope more people will get out and give them a try, benefiting both the environment and the economy."

There are 300 Beryl bikes for hire in Norwich which can be picked up and dropped off at 70 dedicated Beryl Bays in convenient locations across the city.

When using the bikes you should follow the guidelines on use during the coronavirus outbreak.
