Over 150 runners braved the February sea breeze at the launch of a new parkrun on the golden sands of Great Yarmouth seafront.
The first Great Yarmouth parkrun took place on 8th February, with an enthusiastic crowd running, jogging, or walking the 5k route along the famous beach.
The new event was set up with the support of Active Norfolk, Great Yarmouth Borough Council, and Great Yarmouth & Waveney Clinical Commissioning Group as well as parkrun's volunteer organisers.
The parkrun sets off at 9am every Saturday from Great Yarmouth North Beach, with participants encouraged to enjoy a cuppa and a chat afterwards at the Furzedown Hotel or the Beach Hut on the esplanade.
Active Norfolk project officer Andy Oakley said: "We're delighted to support this new parkrun which will help Great Yarmouth residents to come together and enjoy being active as a community.
"The course is beautiful with a wonderful mix of terrain and the benefits of fresh sea air to boot!"
