The active travel programme commissioned by the Department of Transport, Pushing Ahead, has launched its dynamic new website to help people in Norfolk get information about ways they can build cycling and walking into their daily routines. In addition the programme has announced a number of upcoming events for people in Norwich and Great Yarmouth to get involved in.
The new website, designed by Borne Creative Agency in Norwich, makes the programme more user-friendly and easier for people who are new to cycling or walking to navigate and find useful resources. Page content includes useful cycling and walking routes in the Norwich and Great Yarmouth areas as well as bike loan schemes and information about events which are taking place around the county.
The website is located at www.pushingaheadnorfolk.co.uk
In addition to the new site, the range of exciting new events which are being coordinated by Pushing Ahead includes the Park Ride family fun rides, which gives families the chance to enjoy cycling together at a local park. The Pushing Ahead team will be on hand at these events to help beginners learn to ride and provide useful guidance to build confidence for new cyclists.
Next month also sees the return of Gorleston in Gear on the Gorleston seafront for people of all ages to come down and try new bikes and learn more about cycling facilities open to them. The day will be free for the whole family and there will be a number of cycling-related games to try out including balance bikes and smoothie bikes for the whole family to have a go at.
