Free cycle family fun events make a return to Norfolk this summer

Two of the county's most popular cycling events are set to return to Norwich and Gorleston seafront this September to offer families in Norfolk the chance to get on their bikes and try all kinds of fun new activities.

On Sunday 30th September the extremely popular Gorleston in Gear event will return to the seafront for people of all ages to attend, free of charge. At the event there will be a host of pedal-powered fun and cycling confidence building activities, including paint-spinning, rubber duck racing and disco bikes. Attendees will also be able to pick up a map for family discovery trail riding two miles, finding clues and answering questions along the way.

In addition there will also be skills and games sessions, bicycle health checks and maintenance workshops, and an adventure course with bikes provided.

While the previous week, Sunday 23rd September, will see a similar event come to the Forum in Norwich to give people the chance to try out all of the above as well as wacky spinning bikes and other great cycling-related experiences.

Active Norfolk Events Manager Fiona Roberts said: "It's all about encouraging people to try out two wheels with the support of experienced team of staff to answer any bike-related questions. The events were really well attended last year and in the winter version of the Norwich event and we're hoping to just build on their success each year."
