About Assistant Coordinator (Health and Wellbeing)

Fixed Term 3-year contract commencing May 2021

Full time 37 hours per week.

This post is office based at the East Suffolk Council office in Melton. Due to the current coronavirus situation, our team is currently working from home – usually our way of working requires travel throughout Suffolk combined with a balance of home working and being based in the office.

Active Suffolk is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed individual who is passionate about the benefits of physical activity and who wants to improve the health and wellbeing of adults in Suffolk by supporting our work to increase levels of physical activity.

You will be part of a dedicated small team, supporting an exciting new health and wellbeing project in areas of Babergh and Mid Suffolk, aiming to increase participation in physical activity – particularly amongst inactive adults. The responsibilities of an Assistant Coordinator (Health & Wellbeing) include promoting the work of Active Suffolk, providing excellent customer service and regular communications to participants and stakeholders, and supporting the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of projects.

You are required to have an awareness of the benefits of a physically active lifestyle and an understanding of the wider issues around achieving increased levels of participation amongst adults. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills will also be essential to this role, as well as good planning, organisation, team-work and administrative skills.

A flexible approach to working hours is required, as well as a current valid driving licence and access to a motor vehicle for work purposes.

In return, we can offer great opportunities for training and development and we will give you all the support we can to build a great career with our organisation and sector. There is also a superb benefits package, flexible working options, provision and resources provided to allow for flexible and remote working, purpose-built brand-new office accommodation, as well as a generous leave entitlement, discount scheme, pension scheme and free car parking.

Please read the job description and person specification before applying for this job.

For an informal discussion regarding this post, please contact Nick Pringle, Senior Development Officer (Health & Wellbeing) on 07557 634261.
