This is a course primarily for Club Welfare Officers (CWO). This course goes into more detail regarding policies and procedures than the SPC course. Candidates must have completed SPC prior to attending TTL.

The workshop includes the following topics:

  • What the roles and responsibilities of key people in the safeguarding process are, including your role as a Club Safeguarding Officer
  • How your National Governing Body supports you, and your club, in safeguarding matters
  • How reporting procedure works
  • What an 'Aware Club' is
  • How to involve young people in your club
  • How to develop Best Practice in your club
  • How government guidance/legislation relates to your role

There are three pre-requisites that delegates attending this course must meet, and they are:

  • club welfare officers must have attended a recognised, basic safeguarding children and young people course e.g. Sports Coach UK Safeguarding and Protecting Children
  • upon attendance at the course delegates must bring their NGB safeguarding and protecting children policy and procedures
  • upon attendance at the course delegates must their job description and person specification for the role and responsibilities of the club welfare officer

Cancellation Policy

Where course cost is over £20 there will be a £5 admin fee for cancellation.

If notification to cancel is received with 2 weeks' notice you will be charged a cancellation fee of 50% of the course fee

If notification to cancel is received with 1 week's notice you will be charged a cancellation fee of 100% of the course fee

Transfers

Transfer to an alternative course is available with at least 1 week's notice, prior to the course start date. Requests to transfer after this date will not be accepted and the relevant cancellation policy will apply. Bookings made within 1 week of the course are not eligible for transfer.
