This course is targeted at any adult volunteering in your club who has regular contact with children and young people. The course focuses on good practice to protect the child and the coach in a sporting environment. This is a prerequisite for any NGB coaching qualification and upon completion you will receive a nationally recognised certificate.

Course Information

This course is targeted at any adult volunteering in your club who has regular contact with children and young people. The course focuses on good practice to protect the child and the coach in a sporting environment. This is a prerequisite for any NGB coaching qualification and upon completion you will receive a nationally recognised certificate.

The minimum delegate age to attend this course is 16 years of age, and those attending aged 16-17 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Please note, this course is not accepted by the FA, therefore if you need to attend a Safeguarding & Protecting Children course related to Football please book a course via Norfolk FA.

Learning Outcomes

• Identify the foundations of safeguarding, good practice and child protection

• Describe the different categories of child abuse and recognise the signs and symptoms of each

• Provide you with knowledge of how to take appropriate action if concerns are raised
