Emma Pooley

Emma Pooley is a professional multi-sport athlete, competing in long distance triathlon, duathlon, cycling, and running events. She is one of Great Britain's most respected and successful road cyclists of the past decade.

Born in London and raised in Norwich, she attended the Norwich High School for Girls and the sixth form of the Norwich School. She went on to Cambridge University where she took up cycling after suffering a running injury.

Emma retired from professional cycling after the 2014 Commonwealth Games to concentrate on triathlon, duathlon and long-distance running, but announced a comeback to seek to qualify to represent Great Britain at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, as she felt the unusually mountainous time trial course on offer played to her strengths.

We caught up with Emma at the Aviva Women's Tour when it came to Norwich on 15th June, and were pleased to be able to snap a photo of her supporting This Girl Can in Norfolk!
