Health Series: Heart Disease & Exercise

This workshop aims to develop, or update, learner's knowledge and understanding of the common types of cardiovascular disease, enabling them to work effectively alongside individuals who have been diagnosed with high blood pressure or high cholesterol. The seminar covers aetiology and prevalence of heart disease in the UK, evidence highlighting the importance of physical activity & exercise in the prevention and management of these conditions, alongside detailing an exercise prescription framework to ensure instructors and coach's work safely alongside their participants.

HSE Emergency First Aid At Work King's Lynn

This course is for anyone involved in the delivery of sport, from coaches and referees to club chairman and caterers. Learn the very latest techniques by qualified and experienced trainers. An enjoyable and practical course which explores the role of the First Aider and covers all the common injuries such as sprains and strains, as well as what to do in the event of something more serious occurring. The minimum age to attend this course is 16 years.

Health Series: Pregnancy & Exercise

This seminar aims to develop, or update, learner's knowledge and understanding of pre and post natal adaptations and the influence on physical activity and exercise. It is essential that instructors and coaches understand the changes and the potential associated medical conditions so that safe and effective activity can be recommended. During this seminar, we explore the benefits of physical activity and exercise, cover appropriate health screening prior to starting exercise alongside exercise considerations and recommendations.

Safeguarding & Protecting Children Easton

This course is targeted at any adult volunteering in your club who has regular contact with children and young people. The course focuses on good practice to protect the child and the coach in a sporting environment. This is a prerequisite for any NGB coaching qualification and upon completion you will receive a nationally recognised certificate.

Basic 3 Hour First Aid Thorpe St Andrew

Date: Thu, 11 Jan 2018 (18:15 - 21:30)

Location: Broadland District Council Offices, Thorpe Lodge, 1 Yarmouth Road, Norwich, Norwich, NR70DU

Both coaching assistants and club volunteers would find this workshop useful. No prior first aid experience is required. This course covers the very basics of first aid and it will also provide you with knowledge of how to assess an incident, and what to do next. There are demonstrations of resuscitation and other techniques to deal with injuries such as sprains and strains.

This is a very unique seminar which aims to develop a learner's knowledge and understanding of the common types of cancer but more specifically the types of treatments people may go through. We explore how these treatments can affect the body and how physical activity and exercise can help make the journey through treatment or post treatment more positive. This condition is exceptionally complex and it is our intention with the seminar to focus on how we as fitness instructors and coaches can make a person's everyday life more independent and enjoyable.
