Junior Development Centres (JDCs)
Sub County Sessions (JDCs)
The England Hockey Single System was implemented in Norfolk in September 2008. The first stage was a single venue of JACs (county level coaching) at Dereham Hockey Club. The next stage was the setting up of several JDC (sub county level) sites around the County.
2012 Norfolk JDCs
A Junior Development Centre (JDC) is a local training centre for the U13 to U17 age groups. JDCs are open to any hockey player who has been nominated by their club, school or coach. After playing for a club or school, attending a JDC is the next step on hockey’s Player Pathway. The coach or teacher can nominate a player to attend an assessment for a JDC if and when they think it is appropriate for the player’s development.
The Autumn programme of training sessions has now finished. Details and dates of the next round of sessions will be posted on the NHA website when they have been finalised.
This programme is part of the England Hockey Single System, you can read more about it HERE.
2008/9 Season
JDCs took place at Harleston, Kings Lynn, Greshams and Taverham. The aim was to target good club/school players that are not county level players, but would benefit from county level coaching and may potentially become county level players.
2009/10 Season
The England Hockey Norfolk JDCs took place between October and December 2009 and players who participated in 2008/9 JACs and JDCs (except those who took part in JRPCs) were invited to attend JDC assessments:
- U13 and U14 boys and girls - Hobart High School, Loddon; Cromer High School, LynnSport, Kings Lynn
- U15 - U17 boys and girls - Langley School; Watton Sports Centre
