Norfolk Swimming Development
Active Norfolk have been working with the Norfolk Swimming Association and ASA to develop a swimming action plan for Norfolk.
This has led to the formation of the Norfolk Swimming Action Group to look at the development of swimming across the board in Norfolk.
The Norfolk ASA have had a swimming action group (SAG) to look at the development of swimming in Norfolk for the past 5 years. Since 2003 the SAG has aimed to emulate the success of the Norwich Swim Forum by setting up forums across the County. The forums are looking at the local need of the district and are feeding this into the development plan.
The Norfolk Action plan is looking at the following areas:
- Athlete Development - from mass participation to the elite swimmer
- Workforce Development - looking to increase and up-skill volunteer coaches, adminstrators and facilities operators
- Infrastructure to develop clubs through Swim21 and facilites to enable more participation at any level.
