Broadland District Council
Broadland’s Leisure Team provide advice and information on a range of services. From arts to sports and countryside recreation to children’s holiday activities. We are involved in many partnerships which enable a wide choice of leisure opportunities in the district. We can tell you where your local bowls club is, or where you can enjoy beautiful countryside walks, and if we can’t help we’ll know someone who can!
Broadland Life is a strategic plan which will allow Broadland District Council to support and develop culture and leisure throughout the district. Broadland Life includes culture and leisure strategies as well as those for children’s play and youth engagement.
Broadly Active is a 12-week physical activity programme available to Broadland residents with health problems. It is only open to those referred by a health professional. Various activities are available including swimming, gym training, exercise classes, walking, Pilates and working on a garden allotment
Broadland District Council is committed to the development of sport. Many Broadland residents give up a great deal of their time to organise, develop and promote sport within Broadland. The Coach Education Grant scheme is designed to go some way in supporting these individuals in the development of their skills and knowledge through financial assistance to attend sports related courses.
The Sponsorship for Excellence Grant scheme is to support those in sport that perform at a high standard. In order to get to this level it takes time, effort and also resources. The scheme recognises this and offers small financial awards to support those who are involved in sport at this level. See Funding
