South Norfolk Council

The Leisure, Culture and Countryside Strategy has recently been launched for South Norfolk Leisure Services and encompasses the next 10 years giving a detailed overview of the department and action plans for each area of work, including leisure and sports development

This area is managed by Alison Furlong, Leisure and Sport Development Manager and supported by Beth Coley, Sports Development Officer and a team of staff within the leisure centre’s.

To support local schools we run a loan equipment scheme and have a variety of loan equipment including maypoles, musical equipment, badge machine, sports equipment, circus skills and under-fives equipment which can be hired by community groups, charitable groups, parish & town councils, fundraisers or private individuals.

We also run a Leisure Passport scheme which offers reduced price admission to leisure facilities both within and outside South Norfolk for those on reduced incomes, job seekers, students, over 60s and the registered disabled.

South Norfolk Leisure and Sports Development encompasses 4 leisure centres within the district, and area located as follows:-

  • Diss Swim and Fitness Centre
  • Long Stratton Leisure Centre
  • Wymondham Leisure Centre
  • Framingham Earl Community Sports Centre
