Over 125 adults with disabilities attended the second year of the Adult Disability Multi-sport Festival at UEA Sportspark on Wednesday 19th and Thursday 20th May to learn and enjoy a variety of different sports.
The purpose behind the event organised by Active Norfolk is to provide a fun and safe sporting festival for adults with physical and/or learning disabilities. Qualified coaches from a variety of local clubs including the Norwich Fencing Club and Football in the Community were be on hand to help participants with the skills they need to play the different sports.
There was a range of 14 sports on offer including well known sports such as table tennis and badminton. The more unusual activities to try include archery, boccia and curling.
Ellen Vanlint, Disability and Equality Officer for Active Norfolk said “With the emphasis on fun and enjoyment, we hope this great festival of sport will help engage adults with disabilities in a variety of team and individual sports.”
