The deadline for applications for this year's Paralympic fund has been extended to the end of September. Grants of between £250 and £500 are on offer. A total of £2,000 will be available in 2011/2012. All athletes aged 12 or over with a disability can apply for an award.
The Trust already sponsors England wheelchair basketball player Lee Manning. "With the Trust's help, I hope I will be flying the flag for Great Britain at the 2012 Paralympics," said Lee. "These awards should mean that more disabled athletes from this area will be competing with me in London."
The scheme will support any athlete living in the areas where Papworth Trust operates:
- Bedfordshire,
- Cambridgeshire,
- Essex,
- Hertfordshire,
- Norfolk,
- Northamptonshire,
- Suffolk
- Waltham Forest area of London
All applications will be assessed by a panel. Full details about the award are available on the application form or from
