Great Yarmouth Sports Partnership (GYSP)

Established in January 2002, GYSP plays a key role in bringing external funding into the borough to support community sport and encourage increased sports participation. GYSP is a broadly based partnership which is incorporated into the Local Strategic Parthership framework.  GYSP has already attracted over £470,000 to support a range of projects including the Local Exercise Action Pilot and the Active England Project with its kiting and sailing.

The Partnership has been recognised by Sport England (East) as an example of good practice and was visited by the Minister for Sport Rt Hon Richard Caborn during the Summer of 2005.  Currently GYSP are working on their Action Plan to cover the next phase of the development of sport and physical activity in Norfolk.
