Rounders in the Park - Free Community Tournament
21 August 2010
On Saturday 21st August 2010, the governing body for the sport of Rounders in the UK, Rounders England, is delivering a community Rounders tournament and taster session, in association with Norwich City Council at Eaton Park.
The Rounders activities are split into two main sessions; a mixed tournament for pre-registered teams will start at 11am, followed by an afternoon taster session open to the whole community from 1.30pm.
The tournament will be a fun, 9-aside competition and although it is for mixed-gender teams (maximum of 5 male players per team) all-female entries are particularly welcome. Entries for the tournament are welcome from all quarters, for example local businesses, students, teachers and groups of friends are encouraged to get involved. The deadline for entries is Friday 13th August.
Teams can register for the tournament by emailing beth.wild@roundersengland.co.uk for a registration form. There is no cost to enter and as there are a limited number of spaces available, teams are encouraged to enter early to avoid disappointment!
The taster session will comprise of introductory coaching to batting, bowling and fielding, finishing with small sided games and is open to anyone that would like to give it a go. The taster session is free of charge and is simply on a turn up and play basis.
